Door County's newest radio station was "conceived" of sorts while enjoying a cold Cherry Wheat beverage on the patio at Shipwrecked in Summer of 1999. Yes, 1999! Broadcast engineering work was done to see if there was room on the dial locally, ultimately submitted to the fine folks at the FCC, which then was approved. After several years in "holding" at the FCC, the license for the new fm 106.9 went to auction (March 2007) where we (the original petitioners, Mike & Carrie Mesic), came out on top and purchased the privilege to serve Door County with a brand new fm radio service.
